Could "The City of Lights" Host the Next International PLE?
Is the WWE heading to Paris for a PLE? Earlier today, the WWE announced its Bash in Berlin PLE will take place in Berlin, Germany on 31 August. This is the second international PLE announced for 2024 (the first being February's Elimination Chamber show in Australia).
Now, Fightful Select is reporting that fans could see another international PLE in 2024. Keep in mind that this is a rumor as nothing has been confirmed:
Some internal schedules in the company also have WWE Backlash listed for Paris, France in Spring of 2024, though Fightful has yet to confirm that it is finalized. We can, however, confirm that it's been discussed heavily. Names of shows can change until they're finalized.

This would be huge and it's not a surprise if you've been following the WWE's trends towards PLE's. In 2022, there were discussions of the WWE aiming to hold as many PLEs as possible in stadiums. The WWE wanted to increase revenue but also improve the WWE's optics, putting their shows on the same level as NFL games or Major League Baseball games.
There are many reasons why the WWE could add another international show. While this is informed speculation, it seems to fit with the WWE's game plan of expanding its global presence and revenues.
The first reason is optics. Having international shows is a way to reinforce the idea that the WWE is a global phenomenon. Just as the WWE likes to its PLEs in stadiums, the idea of selling out stadiums overseas adds to the WWE's prestige.
The second reason is revenue. The WWE is in high demand in North America. Ticket sales for live events and shows such as RAW, SmackDown, and PLEs are very strong. As fans saw with 2022's Clash at the Castle and this year's Backlash, the WWE's international market seems ready to pay premium prices to see a PLE.
A third reason is to increase fans' interest in the WWE product for when the WWE begins its international NXT programs. The WWE is preparing to launch an NXT Europe and it's believed there will be more NXT programs in other markets.
A fourth reason is to increase domestic fans' interest in the product. If the WWE continues increasing the number of international PLEs, fans in Canada and the United States could be more eager to see a domestic PLE, knowing they no longer have 12 shows a year to choose from. This could help the WWE increase ticket prices. Obviously, things could backfire if the WWE Universe feels the promotion isn't catering to their needs or getting greedy with ticket prices.
If the WWE does announce a third international PLE for 2024, where do you think it will take place? Also, is this a good move?
