Khan's latest interview is already receiving criticism.
AEW President, Tony Khan recently appeared on the Superstar Crossover Podcast, and during the interview, Khan was asked about a range of topics.
One of the notable things Khan discussed was the status of Jade Cargill and this is what he had to say:
"Jade had a great match on Friday night on AEW Rampage and it was a great match against Kris Statlander. Kris Statlander retained the TBS Championship on Rampage on Friday night and I thought that was a great match, definitely one of the best matches I've seen either of them have and I thought a really great main event for the show. As far as Jade goes, I can't really comment on that except to say that Jade's been a great wrestler for AEW and certainly always welcome in AEW, you know, could always be somebody we would always love to work with here in AEW."
Khan was then boldly asked what went wrong between AEW and Punk, and Khan gave a rather counterproductive answer:
"Well, I can't really comment on that, but you know, I appreciate you asking, but I, you know, am very excited about the things we are doing. Like I said, we've been on probably the best run of AEW pay-per-views we've ever had and the TV shows have been really strong. We've had a lot of great matches, both on TV and pay-per-view and it feels like this week, it's all really coming together, and to come into New York City with a card so strong, up and down. You know, we've talked about the AEW World Championship MJF versus Samoa Joe, the International Championship Jon Moxley versus Ray Phoenix, the Women's World Championship, the AEW Champions Saraya versus Toni Storm. You mentioned the title for title match, Eddie Kingston versus Claudio Castagnoli. It's such a big card up and down the show and when you look at that kind of a lineup and the kind of matches we're bringing, and also you have, you know, AEW Rampage, including Sting teaming with Darby Allin.”
