What is AEW's Latest Announcement?

Tony Khan has a big announcement planned for 1 November. However, who or what does it involve? What does AEW's President have to say? Tony tweeted the news on 31 October:

Is AEW Expanding Its Pay-Per-View Schedule?

This may have something to do with the rumors of AEW adding more pay-per-views to its schedule. AEW expanded its traditional schedule of quarterly pay-per-views this year. Not only did AEW hold a sequel to last year's Forbidden Door, it also added All In and WrestleDream. These additional shows have led to talk that AEW is thinking of going to a monthly pay-per-view schedule.

So far, AEW's fans seem willing to support extra pay-per-views. There was concern that fans wouldn't be willing to drop $49.95 for extra shows. That hasn't been the case but AEW may be pushing its luck with monthly pay-per-views (should it go this route).

A New Partnership with Warner Brothers Discovery?

The AEW announcement may be related to the promotion's partnership with Warner Brothers Discovery. Khan may reveal that AEW's current deal with WBD has been extended. Although WBD still has time left on the deal, there's been talk of the entertainment company renewing the deal ahead of time. There's also been talk of AEW partnering with WBD to air content on its MAX streaming service. This could involve streaming AEW content and/or switching AEW's pay-per-views to WBD's MAX channel. Such a move would likely make a move to monthly pay-per-views more palatable for fans who aren't independently wealthy.

Is AEW Adding a New Championship?

Another possibility is that AEW will add a new championship. Although AEW's men's division has plenty of titles to go around, the women's division has no tag team title. A women's tag team title has been discussed for years. A tag title could give AEW's women more opportunities for TV time as they compete for a tag title. A women's tag title seems like a no-brainer in light of how much AEW pushes its men's tag team division.

Tony Khan is known for making announcements to keep fans up-to-date on major developments in the promotion. In an industry known for its fondness for hyperbole, Khan deserves credit for making sure that so-called big announcements deliver. Hopefully this latest announcement will keep Khan's good record intact.

Fans won't have long to wait. What do you think AEW's big announcement is?
