Countdown To Under Siege: The FBI (Guido, Ray Jaz, and Zack Clayton) vs. three opponents TBA
In an unannounced contest on a night of last-minute card changes, Rhino returned to pay-per-view action as he battled a returning VSK, who’d recently spent a spell in All Elite Wrestling as Jeeves Kay. A resilient battle from VSK was ruined following a mistimed middle-rope Splash, opening the door for ‘The War Machine’ to tear through VSK with a gut-wrenching Gore for the three count.
Flanked by FBI original Guido, Ray Jaz and Zack Clayton made short work of ex-CHIKARA workers The Batiri, represented by Kodama and Obariyon. Clayton, in particular, dominated the pair, utilising his surreal power and agility to keep them down constantly, a pop-up Uppercut being the primary highlight. A brief flurry of offence saw The Batiri cut the ring off before, ultimately, Zack managed to plant Obariyon on the mat, allowing Ray Jaz to top-rope Elbow Drop him for the win.
Steve Maclin was shown arriving at the venue, being greeted by an irate Frankie Kazarian.
A much faster-paced encounter than its two predecessors, Laredo Kid’s first Digital Media Championship vs. KC Navarro was treated as if it were for the X Division Championship, with both champion and challenger lighting up the squared circle. A picturesque Asia Moonsault from Laredo Kid and stiff corner V-Trigger from KC Navarro showcased each man’s signature styles perfectly, but a venture up the turnbuckles proved to be a deadly mistake for KC as he would be Laredo Flyed for the three count. Laredo Kid’s reign continues at 13 days.
A scintillating tag team contest forging two of TNA’s most heated rivalries spawned a mini Team Canada 2.0 formation as Josh Alexander formally embraced Eric Young as his partner for the night by presenting him with his own headgear. Focusing heavily on Frankie Kazarian’s reluctance to share the ring with ‘The World Class Maniac’, the match was fiercely fought for its nearly 20-minute duration, eventually reaching a boiling point when Young and Kazarian were both made legal. Alexander wiping out Steve Maclin at ringside allowed EY to spike Kaz with a Piledriver to gain a matter of retribution for Rebellion.
In a dismal match that left the former Dana Brooke serenaded by distant clamours to retire, Ash By Elegance was easily outmatched by the larger Havok, despite coming prepared with a necklace of garlic cloves. Ash’s Personal Concierge at ringside intervened on numerous occasions, eventually being chased away by a blood-spitting Rosemary. A surprise rollup gifted the win to Ash By Elegance, who proceeded to continue beating up the former Knockouts World Champion post-match with a steel chair-assisted Swanton Bomb and DDT on the ramp.
Gia Miller interviewed ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy and Speedball Mountain backstage, with Hardy presenting both Mike Bailey and Trent Seven with similar entrance robes as he formally welcomed them into House Hardy.
Coming into the match on a high with his number-six-in-the-charts ‘I Believe In Joe Hendry’, Hendry immediately ambushed himself by Zachary Wentz, who entered the bout alone with neither Trey Miguel nor Myron Reed anywhere to be seen. An intense suicide dive sent Joe Hendry flying back before the Scotsman overpowered the multi-time World Tag Team Champion once back inside the ring. Sending Wentz flailing through the air after avoiding his UFO Cutter, it would be a Standing Ovation for Hendry as he pinned Zachary Wentz to cap off a successful week.
With Rancid’s Lars Frederiksen joining commentary to discuss all things Spitfire, Dani Luna and Jody Threat displayed their best work yet as a cohesive unit, keeping Alisha Edwards and Masha Slamovich on their toes with a series of fast-moving double-team manoeuvres. Slamovich soon took control for her team, though not before taking a delayed double suplex from Spitfire, and would distract the referee long enough for Alisha to strike Jody with Kendra the kendo stick before a Doctor Bomb and Pedigree combination put ‘The Wild Child’ down for good. Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards joined their stablemate, plus Masha Slamovich, to celebrate, Edwards congratulating his wife on her first TNA championship victory. Spitfire’s reign ends at 56 days.
First Cla$$ addressed the changes to the card in a pre-taped backstage segment.
In what was a true David vs. Goliath contest, Jake Something annihilated Rich Swann for large swathes of the match, that was when he wasn’t being double-teamed whenever AJ Francis decided to interject himself into the match. The former Top Dolla was ultimately caught red-handed by the referee, though before he could throw the match out, Cody Deaner entered to even the odds - only to eat a nasty Chokeslam on the ring apron. Consecutive dives from Something on Francis and Swann on Something was followed by Rich hitting Jake with a handspring Cutter and Frog Splash for his second premium event victory on back-to-back events.
Wrestling for the first time in months, Jonathan Gresham debuted a new all-black look, complete with an octopus mask. Spending all match coughing, ‘The Octopus’ initially relied on his traditional wrestling expertise, as did KUSHIDA, before sinking to underhanded tactics. An attempt at the Hoverboard Lock by ‘The Time Splitter’ was evaded by Gresham, who coughed up black liquid over his own hand to cinch in a clawhold on KUSHIDA for the pinfall win. The multi-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion was, too, oozing black liquid post-match.
Stemming from the events of Rebellion where PCO and Kon both got involved in the Knockouts World Championship match, reigning champion Jordynne Grace decided she wanted a piece of Kon, though this didn’t last long as the match was largely fought under mixed tag team rules rather than official intergender rules. Steph de Lander’s attempts at seducing PCO very nearly worked before Kon attacked ‘The French-Canadian Frankenstein’ from behind. Kon was removed from the match when Grace planted him with a Death Valley Driver before she dropped de Lander with the Juggernaut Driver to mark her second straight pinfall win over the former NXT star.
In what was easily the greatest match of the evening, Mustafa Ali and Ace Austin wrestled a scorcher over the former’s X Division Championship, doing so in a clinic befitting of the title. Austin’s determination to win his fourth X Division Championship was on full display throughout as he battled through Ali - plus his quartet of suited security - despite eating a series of nasty bumps, a Tornado DDT and German Suplex, both on the ringside mats, being the most notorious. The Fold almost sealed the title for Austin before a security guard yanked the referee from the ring, leading Ali to retake the advantage, spike the challenger atop the championship belt, and 450 Splash him to leave Albany still as X Division Champion. Mustafa Ali’s reign continues at 56 days.
A hectic six-man tag team match closed out the 2024 Under Siege, centred around the anticipated collision between TNA World Champion Moose and ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy, with the former being hesitant to step into the ring alongside the older Hardy brother. Trent Seven ultimately got the hot tag to Matt after fending off The System, leading to the entire match breaking down as Hardy top-rope Leg Dropped Moose through a table stationed at ringside. Back inside the ring, Alisha Edwards prevented Speedball Mountain’s pinfall attempt, with Mike Bailey then being turned upside down by a Lariat, and Seven eating the pinfall following a Backpack Stunner and diving Elbow Drop combination. The System celebrated with their gold as the show faded to black.
