When Will Fans Get to See This Happen?

TNA President Scott D'Amore promises one of the biggest signings in company history but who is it and when will they show up?

D'Amore's Big Announcement

TNA President Scott D'Amore recently revealed on Busted Open Radio that:

We're going to have some surprises for you, some unexpected things including, guys, we are right there at the goal line of finalizing one of, I think, the biggest signings in TNA. I think it's something that's really going to shake things up here on January 13.

For those who don't follow TNA Wrestling, the promotion will hold its Hard to Kill pay-per-view on 13 January.

Big Things Ahead for TNA?

It looks like Scott D'Amore wants to get TNA Wrestling off to a sensational start in 2024. D'Amore announced earlier this year that IMPACT Wrestling was reverting to its original name, TNA Wrestling. This doesn't appear to have been done on a whim as the company had spent several years building up its IMPACT brand after years operating as TNA Wrestling.

D'Amore noted that fans have made their love for the TNA brand known at events by chanting "TNA." This presents the promotion with a chance to take whatever steps it feels are necessary to grow its audience. It wouldn't be surprising if TNA executives see the WWE's surge in popularity as a wave it can ride on. , including Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler,

A Slew of Superstars to Sign

TNA has many former WWE Superstars to choose from. 21 former WWE Superstars will become free agents on 21 December. Some of these Superstars can be considered upper-card or even main-event talent including Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler and Riddle. Other available talents could become upper-card or main-event talent with the right push and the right reaction from TNA fans.

Which Other Wrestlers Could Sign with TNA?

While there are many free agents from the WWE, TNA may bring in someone outside the current group of WWE free agents. One name to consider is Mercedes Mone (aka former WWE Superstar Sasha Banks). There were rumors that Mone would work matches in AEW, but a recent story suggests that there are no longer active discussions about Mercedes working in AEW. Mercedes' former tag team partner and friend Trinity (aka former WWE Superstar Naomi) currently works in TNA.

There are other names as well, including Bill Goldberg. While Bill Goldberg doesn't seem like the right fit for TNA's style, he certainly could bring in new viewers to the promotion. However, the cost for Goldberg makes it unlikely he'd sign. "Dollar" Bill might not want to work in a smaller promotion like TNA, especially if he plans to retire in his next home.

If TNA Wrestling wants to bring in new viewers (or bring back lapsed viewers), it could benefit from signing someone like Dolph Ziggler or Riddle to an, including Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler, extended contract. Ziggler's reputation as one of wrestling's finest workers makes him a good choice for TNA Wrestling. Matt Riddle's star power and wrestling ability make him a good choice but TNA may not want to risk Riddle repeating his past antics from his time in the WWE.

Who do you think is coming to TNA Wrestling on 13 January? Who would you like to see?
