Countdown To Hard To Kill

Steve Maclin def. Rich Swann by Pinfall

A frenzied opener saw Steve Maclin largely dominate the high-flying Rich Swann, avoiding his key offence by breaking down the former World and X Division Champion. A 450 Splash from Swann was the closest he came to victory before a KIA double-arm DDT secured the win for Maclin, the first victory of the new era.

Gia Miller interviewed Moose, Brian Myers, Eddie and Alisha Edwards, and former NFL running back DeAngelo Williams backstage, with Moose revealing they’re now known as The System.

DJ Whoo Kid introduced AJ Francis, the former Top Dolla of WWE, to premiere his music video for We Out$ide. Joe Hendry interrupted, initially praising Francis before premiering his own music video, dissing the ex-Hit Row man. Francis laid out Hendry with a Chokeslam.

The System (Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards) def. Eric Young and Frankie Kazarian by Pinfall

Frequent tags from Eric Young and Frankie Kazarian gave them the early advantage, with Kazarian and Eddie Edwards renewing their hostile rivalry of 2023. The newly-named System soon took over, manhandling the TNA veterans with a Roster Cut to Kazarian sealing the win for The System.

TNA Digital Media Championship No Disqualifications Match: Crazzy Steve def. Tommy Dreamer by Pinfall to win the TNA Digital Media Championship

Violently back and forth, Crazzy Steve and Tommy Dreamer battled with steel chairs, forks, and trash cans, each taking a beating from the other. A Cutter from Steve with Dreamer’s head wrapped in a chair ultimately led into Steve capturing his first singles title in TNA, putting ‘The Innovator of Violence’ down with a middle-rope DDT. Tommy Dreamer’s reign ends at 128 days.

TNA Knockouts World Championship #1 Contender’s Ultimate X Match: Gisele Shaw def. Alisha Edwards, Dani Luna, Jody Threat, Tasha Steelz, and Xia Brookside

A rush for the X hanging above the ring started proceedings before the match wholly broke down. Ringside action saw numerous Knockouts take a tumble, including a Cutter from Tasha Steelz to Jody Threat off the steel truss onto everyone else at ringside, while Threat later took out Gisele Shaw and Xia Brookside with a double F5. Boiling down to Shaw, Steelz, and Dani Luna, ‘The Quintessential Diva’ knocked her competitors from atop the structure before dropping to the mat with the red X.

PCO def. Dirty Dango by Disqualification

PCO’s entrance saw him brought back to life by a team of surgeons in a good piece of creativity, but his match vs. Dirty Dango barely got started before Alpha Bravo - flanking Dango alongside Oleg Prudius - intervened, breaking up an attempting PCOSault. Rhino came to the former ROH World Champion’s aid, leading to TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella creating a six-man tag team match, Jake Something being the final competitor.

PCO, Rhino, and Jake Something def. Dirty Dango, Oleg Prudius, and Alpha Bravo by Pinfall

A rapid start from Jake Something saw him vault himself into the ring, quickly taking down Dirty Dango and Alpha Bravo, though the Dango-led trio soon dominated the match. Rhino soon came to blows with Oleg Prudius, knocking the former Vladimir Kozlov off his feet, before PCO and friends tore Alpha Bravo apart. A PCOSault to the former IMPACT referee got he, Rhino, and Jake Something the victory.

An unknown woman, donning high-heeled boots and blonde hair, was shown exiting a vehicle outside “earlier today”.

Courtney Rush and Jessicka reverted to their Rosemary and Havok personas, reforming Decay in an impromptu Knockouts World Tag Team Championships match.

TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championships: Decay (Rosemary and Havok) def. MK Ultra (Killer Kelly and Masha Slamovich) by Pinfall to win the TNA World Tag Team Championships

In a competitively-fought back-and-forth title match, MK Ultra were able to isolate Rosemary before ‘The Demon Assassin’ made the tag to Havok. A double Suplex took down both Killer Kelly and Masha Slamovich, before Havok escaped a Snow Plow pinfall attempt at the count of one. With Slamovich taken out, Decay planted Kelly with a Spinebuster combination to become two-time World Tag Team Champions. MK Ultra’s reign ends at 180 days.

Gia Killer interviewed Steve Maclin backstage, with Maclin promising 2024 to be the year of mayhem.

TNA President Scott D’Amore was joined on-stage by Dorian Roldán Peña, the CEO of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, announcing a working relationship between the two promotions.

TNA X Division Championship: Chris Sabin def. El Hijo del Vikingo and KUSHIDA by Pinfall to retain the TNA X Division Championship

An expectedly enthralling three-way bout contested the TNA X Division Championship, as Chris Sabin, KUSHIDA, and reigning AAA Mega Champion, El Hijo del Vikingo wowed the audience with a sensational bout. An inside-out 450 Splash from Vikingo and a middle-rope Canadian Destroyer onto the ramp from Sabin were the leading highlights, with Chris Sabin later downing his Time Machine partner KUSHIDA via Cradle Shock to hold onto the newly-designed X Division Championship. Chris Sabin’s reign continues at 124 days.

Josh Alexander def. Alex Hammerstone by Pinfall

An early Match of the Year contender saw Josh Alexander and the debuting Alex Hammerstone tear each other apart. Though Alexander held momentum in the early goings, Hammerstone soon broke ‘The Walking Weapon’ down, annihilating him with a series of hard-hitting manoeuvres, including a gnarly apron Death Valley Driver. Josh Alexander managed to pick up the win, though, smashing his way through one of pro wrestling’s hottest free agents with a C4 Spike to start 2024 with a mammoth victory.

TNA World Tag Team Championships: The ABC (Ace Austin and Chris Bey) def. Mike Bailey and Laredo Kid, The Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson), and The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz) by Pinfall to retain the TNA World Tag Team Championships

A surprise result saw The ABC duo of Ace Austin and Chris Bey reign supreme, still as the World Tag Team Championships, putting Trey Miguel of The Rascalz down with the 1, 2, Finesse. Although a smattering botches hampered the match’s quality to a degree, the quartet of duos produced a superb four-way bout, reminiscent of the promotion’s glory days that saw each team get a moment to shine, including a spot where the late-formed tandem of Mike Bailey and Laredo Kid narrowly missed claiming the titles. The ABC’s reign continues at 82 days.

Ahead of the Knockouts World Championship match, Ash By Elegance - the former Dana Brooke - was shown sitting in the audience.

TNA Knockouts World Championship: Jordynne Grace def. Trinity by Pinfall to win the TNA Knockouts World Championship

Though Trinity losing the Knockouts World Championship had been heavily expected owing to her publicly-discussed return to WWE, she and Jordynne Grace contested a compelling, back-and-forth match for the title that saw Grace outpower the former Naomi on multiple occasions, including Jackhammer-ing her on the floor. Hitting her signature offence, such as the Rear View and the Starstruck, wasn’t enough for Trinity, as a Juggernaut Driver sealed her fate and allowed Jordynne to become Knockouts World Champion for the third time. Trinity’s reign ends at 182 days.

TNA World Championship: Moose def. Alex Shelley by Pinfall to win the TNA World Championship

Headlining the first event back under the TNA banner, Alex Shelley and Moose worked a match unlike anything else on the card, wrestling a slower, more mat-based style that allowed the match’s bigger moments peak. A Shellshock at ringside saw a near-count out retention for Shelley, who went move-for-move with his larger challenger and after a tussle in-ring, Moose reversed a second Shellshock into a Spear to lift the TNA World Championship. Alex Shelley’s reign ends at 216 days.

Post-match, Moose was laid out by the debuting Nic Nemeth, formerly Dolph Ziggler of WWE. Standing in the crowd, he revealed a TNA shirt, indicating that he has joined the company full-time.
