Reckon you know your Tito Santanas from your Hulk Hogans?
Established on March 31, 1985, WrestleMania was Vince McMahon’s first major gamble as owner of the then-World Wrestling Federation. It needed to be a success and a success it was, as 19,121 rabid Hulkamaniacs flooded the illustrious Madison Square Garden while over one million others watched via closed-circuit television as reigning WWF Champion Hulk Hogan and Mr T battered Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff in a blockbuster attraction.
WrestleMania has since become the staple event of WWE, held every spring and regularly hailed as the be-all and end-all of professional wrestling. Not everybody can headline ‘The Showcase of the Immortals’ like Hulk Hogan has, though - primarily because Hogan himself did so nine times! - but luckily for everyone not born Terry Bollea, there’s an old saying within the squared circle; if you can’t be on last, you want to be on first.
So, who has been on first at WrestleMania?
