Latest on Surprise Returns
Time for some spoilers on surprise Royal Rumble entrants. If you don't want to have some potential surprises ruined, check out one of our other fine articles. If you like spoilers, read away.
The Royal Rumble is always a fun show for fans, partly due to the surprise factor surrounding the show. First, there's the mystery of who will win the event and land themselves a world championship match at WrestleMania. Second, there's the surprise of Superstars from the past returning, new Superstars debuting in the event, and absent Superstars (often absent due to injury).
With The Royal Rumble less than three weeks away, there are already many predictions on who will win the Men and Women's matches. However, what about surprise entrants? Here are three names to consider.
Naomi: Rumors have been heating up that Naomi (currently working in TNA Wrestling as its Knockouts Champion Trinity) is returning to the WWE once her TNA contract expires. A recent report from PWInsider suggests Naomi's TNA deal could be up sometime in January:
Trinity Update: One source has since contacted PWInsider.com to state they believe Trinity will finish up with Impact at their Orlando tapings.

Naomi could appear at the Rumble, even if she is still signed with TNA. TNA Wrestling and the WWE could work out a deal for Naomi to appear at the Rumble, much as it did when TNA Knockouts Champion Mickie James appeared at the 2022 Royal Rumble.
Sean Waltman (aka X-Pac): Sean Waltman's name has come up over the last few years as a surprise entrant but a recent report from PWInsider suggests this year could be his year. Last week, PWInsider reported:
The word making the rounds at the WWE Performance Center today is that WWE Hall of Famer Sean “X-Pac” Waltman will be down at the facility this week.

An X-Pac return would likely pop the crowd. Despite Internet smarks creating the term "X-Pac heat" (used to refer to wrestlers who make fans want to change the channel), the two-time WWE Hall of Famer remains a popular figure. At 51, it's even possible that X-Pac could return for a short program.
Liv Morgan: Another name is Liv Morgan. The popular Superstar has been out of action since she injured her shoulder last summer. However, Ringside News' Felix Upton is reporting:
Liv Morgan is also in the mix, with talks of her comeback from injury circulating. It was reported that word started in November 2023 indicating that Liv was anticipated to return soon from a shoulder injury.

If Liv does return, fans will be intrigued to see how she fares in the Rumble. Last year Liv emerged as a runner-up to Rhea Ripley and might have won except she was inadvertently sprayed in the face with poison mist by Asuka (who was aiming at Ripley).
Who would you like to see return at this year's Royal Rumble? Do you think any of these wrestlers will show up?
