Is "Rowdy" Ronda Back?
Ronda Rousey returns to the ring, prompting speculation about whether she's reconsidering her decision to walk away from the grappling game following her second run in the WWE. While it's too early to tell, Rousey's appearance surprised fans who felt she was finished with wrestling.
According to a report from Wrestling News' Andrew Ravens:
...the former WWE Women’s Champion made a surprise return on Thursday for Lucha VaVOOM at the Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Rousey was sitting in the front row when she teamed with her long-time friend Marina Shafir to take on Taya Valkyrie and Brian Kendrick in tag team action. H/T Wrestling News
The article noted that Rousey won the match for her team after she forced Brian Kendrick to tap out to an anklelock.
"The Baddest Woman on the Planet's" last pro wrestling match was at this year's SummerSlam. There, she lost to Shayna Baszler in a bout that failed to impress. Indeed, some fans were less than thrilled by Rousey's second campaign in the WWE. Some fans complained that Rousey was phoning it in while others felt she was badly booked. Whatever the reason, Rousey's second run was an overall disappointment compared to her first run in the WWE.
"Rowdy" Ronda posted the following comment on her Instagram account, along with a video from the event:
@luchavavoom was honestly the best Lucha/burlesque hybrid show I’ve ever had the pleasure of jumping into unannounced. Anyone who doubted me and @marinashafir could make magic in a ring is an idiot - thank you @thetayavalkyrie and @mr.briankendrick for being down to get down with us 🙏🏼❤️🤼
No word if this was a one-off appearance or a sign Rousey is considering a return to wrestling. If Rousey does return, where do you think she should work?
