This makes a ton of sense...
Don’t expect CM Punk to reference AEW on WWE programming anytime soon.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Punk has signed an NDA, which means he can’t talk about AEW.
Meltzer writes:
“While promoting All In, Tony Khan was asked about Punks’s departure and said, “I can’t talk about that, nor do I think it’s the time or the place, but I appreciate you asking and I’m very excited about AEW All In at Wembley Stadium. Not to dodge or duck your question; it’s just not something I can legally talk about. For those wondering or disappointed that Punk said nothing about AEW, it’s because both he and others have signed several NDA’s regarding talking publicly about the other.”
This is huge news, and it will obviously impact what can and can’t be mentioned in Punk’s promos moving forward.
Punk returned at Survivor Series this past weekend, and he is first expected to feud with Seth Rollins on the RAW brand.
