From Chris Jericho to Swerve Strickland, can you name every AEW World Championship match in history?
Sunday, May 26 will mark five years since AEW first launched.
Debuting on May 25, 2019 with the premiere of Double or Nothing, All Elite Wrestling entered the wrestling market with a boom, casting light upon the dark cloud which had contained WWE’s stale PG Era product for years. It was on that night that Cody and Dustin Rhodes wrestled a match so emotionally raw that it positioned the ageing Goldust as a legitimate force in his new home, while Jon Moxley, the former Dean Ambrose, made his emphatic arrival in Las Vegas - but it was what happened just moments before that was arguably more historic.
In besting Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho cemented his spot against ‘Hangman’ Adam Page in the All Out headliner that September. The winner? Well, they would become the inaugural AEW World Champion, a belt unveiled here, at Double or Nothing, by the legendary Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart.
Indeed, Jericho vs. Page was the magnificent maiden voyage for the richest prize in All Elite Wrestling - but can you name the others? You have eight minutes. Good luck!
