What Happened to Wrestler?

An NWA wrestling star was recently shot in an attempted carjacking. The National Wrestling Alliance issued a statement concerning wrestler Blk Jeez (aka Darnell Kittrell). Here is an excerpt from the press release (the full press release can be found here):

PHILADELPHIA - National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) star and cancer survivor Blk Jeez, legal name Darnell Kittrell, survived an attempted carjacking on Thurs., January 11, at approximately 7 p.m. in Philadelphia. Kittrell, who was in his vehicle, was approached by four masked men. In the course of the incident, one of the assailants shot Kittrell in the hip, resulting in a non-life-threatening injury.
Kittrell, who possesses a permit to carry a gun, used his legally registered firearm to defend himself and returned fire. The suspects fled the scene, and investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage for leads. Kittrell was taken to a local hospital and is recovering.

Blk Jeez was diagnosed with blood cancer in Spring 2023. A December 2023 statement from the NWA discussed Blk Jeez' inspiring battle (an excerpt follows):

Blk Jeez, also known for his association with The Church's Money and Idolmania Sports Management, has been absent from the wrestling scene since the March 28 episode of NWA Powerrr. During his time away, he demonstrated immense strength and resilience while undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma, earning the admiration and support of fans around the world.
