Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill were dethroned in Glasgow, Scotland by…

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn are the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

The aptly-named Unholy Union lifted the championships on home soil, toppling defending champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at Clash At The Castle from Glasgow’s OVO Hydro. Isla Dawn secured the win, pinning Shayna Baszler - who, alongside Zoey Stark, made up the match’s third team - after Belair and Cargill planted her with their Wheelbarrow DDT-Suplex combination.

Lifting the championships marks the second set of WWE-branded Tag Team Championships for Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. They had previously reigned for two months with the defunct NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships, besting Kiana James and Fallon Henley at NXT Stand And Deliver in April 2023. Drafted to SmackDown shortly thereafter, they would be defeated by then-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, who unified the NXT titles with their main roster counterparts.

First introduced in February 2019, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships have had a combined 26 reigns. For Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, their reign began only six weeks ago at WWE Backlash: France as they bested The Kabuki Warriors.

Alba Fyre And Isla Dawn Petitioning For Scottish WrestleMania

The second Clash At The Castle event marks WWE’s first Premium Live Event in Scotland and the latest in a line of United Kingdom-based PLEs for WWE that began with the inaugural Clash At The Castle in Cardiff, Wales. Moving forward, the potential of WrestleMania being held in the UK has been a hot topic of discussion amongst wrestling fans, with John Cena having teased as such during an unadvertised appearance at July 2023’s Money in the Bank in London.

Speaking to Cultaholic Wrestling’s Fraser Porter, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn confirmed their interest in a British WrestleMania, eyeing Murrayfield as a potential location:

“[Alba Fyre] Drew [McIntyre] has been fighting for this [Clash At The Castle in Scotland] for so long and since NXT UK, we’ve been pushing so hard for this pay-per-view, but he’s really led the way there. He deserves his match, we deserve our match. We’re all so happy and I know the crowd is going to show up tonight and tomorrow, and show exactly why we should have had this years ago.
[Isla Dawn] And why we should be back year after year, WrestleMania in Murrayfield. Putting it out now… I would prefer Scotland. I would take UK all around.”

WrestleMania 41 has been confirmed to be held on April 19 and 20, 2025 from Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, though the location of ‘Manias beyond 41 remain undetermined.
