What Moves Are Next for the WWE?
Are more creative changes coming from Triple H? Triple H has reportedly assumed complete control of the WWE's creative department which means he no longer has to worry about Vince McMahon lurking in the weeds (or anywhere near creative for that matter).
As WrestleLamia has discussed in our daily news videos, the belief is that TKO-Holdings CEO Ari Emanuel authorized Triple H to lead the WWE's creative department. Last week, Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso noted:
‍
Multiple contacts within the WWE and UFC have confirmed that Ari Emanuel, who wields power as the Endeavor CEO, is behind the change. Emanuel has long been a firm believer that, in order for an organization to be as effective as possible, people need to do the job they are assigned. In this case, that approach has empowered Levesque to exert his full influence in the company’s creative sphere.

Now, Fightful Select is reporting that fans should expect to see more moves in creative now that Triple H has free rein in the company:
While one writer had said that many of the Vince McMahon changes were minimal throughout the year, we’re told that the adjustments have freshened up things and relaxed the process now that Raw has a much more wide open roster of talent to implement and use. Outside of Raw After Mania (which internally was viewed as a creative disaster), McMahon wasn’t making changes in person, instead doing it remotely. Even though there was a long reputation of Vince making last minute changes, it would also happen throughout the weekend, as we saw with the nixed DIY reunion from the Summer. When McMahon would learn the creative plans, remote adjustments would be made along the way, and he would indicate wrestlers he did or didn’t want on the show.
H/TÂ Ringside News
As WrestleLamia discussed in our analysis of the 16 October 2023 RAW, the show seemed to have Triple H's fingerprints all over it. RAWÂ spent time developing its undercard while also engaging in the long-term storytelling that has become Triple H's trademark.

If the 16 October 2023 RAW is any hint of things to come, Triple H intends to continue with his original booking style of a large cast of featured, supporting, and minor players. It will be interesting to see how the WWE utilizes its vast roster. Prior to Vince McMahon's return in late 2022, it appeared Triple H wanted to cycle minor players into more prominent roles, giving them a chance to connect with the fans.
While the WWE does have a huge roster, the recent trend of putting RAW and SmackDown Superstars on NXT could help underutilized wrestlers get valuable TV time. The WWE still has a deep roster despite its recent cuts.
Triple H also seems more focused than ever on elevating new talent and previously underutilized talent. He also seems to have developed a plan for booking the women's division. Although one show can't be seen as evidence of permanent change, the 16 October RAWÂ was one of the best-booked shows in terms of featuring female talent.
