This week, it was reported that Kevin Patrick was being removed from his duties as SmackDown play-by-play commentator.

PWInsider Elite (subscription required) is now reporting that Michael Cole will be stepping in for Patrick this week on SmackDown, as Cole will be in town ahead of the Royal Rumble.

There is no news yet as to who will be the permanent replacement for Patrick, and as always, Wrestlelamia will keep you posted on the latest developments.

Additionally, it’s unknown if Patrick will be moving on to a new role in the company.
