One of the top matches expected on the SummerSlam PLE match card next month is CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre. However, there is one major roadblock stopping the match currently and that is Punk’s status.

Punk is currently injured, and as things stand, it looks like Punk hasn’t been medically cleared to compete.

According to PWInsider, Punk was at the WWE Performance Centre yesterday, and this was done with the hopes of being cleared by WWE medical. There is no news on how this visit went, and if Punk was cleared.

If Punk isn’t cleared in time for SummerSlam, then it’s likely (based on recent booking on RAW), that WWE book another McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins match. Punk will likely be involved in some capacity, and WWE could even deliver a special guest referee angle.

- Damian Priest vs. Gunther (World Title)

- Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley (Women’s World Title)
