Another major coup is on the horizon for TNA Wrestling.

One of pro wrestling’s top free agents has been announced for their TNA Wrestling debut.

Mustafa Ali, a former WWE Superstar of seven years, is coming into the Anthem-helmed promotion, though when, exactly, wasn’t specified. Ali appeared in a pre-taped vignette after last night’s (January 25) TNA iMPACT!, noting how TNA’s recent change needed the introduction of an X-factor, before appearing before the camera, approving the message.

It remains to be seen when he’ll debut in front of a live audience. TNA’s next live show isn’t until Friday, February 23 for their No Surrender TNA+ special with television tapings the following evening, though their next pay-per-view - expected to be Rebellion - will likely still be in its April timeslot. Similarly, there are no details as yet surrounding Ali’s contractual status, although given his forthcoming busy schedule, free agency appears to be his home for now.

Released by WWE on September 21, 2023, Mustafa Ali is the fourth name from the round of cuts to be subsequently linked with TNA, following Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler), Ash By Elegance (Dana Brooke), and AJ Francis’ (Top Dolla) debuts.

Mustafa Ali Is A Ticket-Mover

Within weeks of his first post-WWE ventures, Mustafa Ali was hailed as a huge asset by a multitude of wrestling groups, with many touting to Fightful Select that Ali’s impact on ticket sales was the most they’d encountered for a former WWE Superstar “in years”. Official figures aren’t publicly known, but a good chunk of events to feature Mustafa are known to have sold out.

Currently undefeated on the independent circuit, Mustafa Ali’s campaign for world dominance includes upcoming dates for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, PROGRESS Wrestling, and House of Glory, the latter of which is to see Ali square off against two TNA icons; recently-surpassed TNA World Champion, Alex Shelley, and former X Division Champion, The Amazing Red.
