Is AJ Lee returning to the WWE? Now that CM Punk has returned to the company, some fans think his wife AJ Lee could come back as well. Some fans are taking Punk's promo on the 27 November RAW as a hint AJ might return. In case you missed it, Punk said that AJ sends her regards and she's doing well.

However, a new report from PWInsider states:

Punk mentioned his wife, April aka AJ Lee during his promo.  Right now there has been no discussion of her coming in.  She retired years ago for health reasons and has carved out a successful writing career for herself, but one has to think that a cameo appearance or so down the line wouldn’t be out of the question, especially since there are so many talents in the company today who have praised her work as influencing their careers.

AJ Lee was a breakthrough star who got over with the WWE Universe through her wrestling ability, charisma, and a certain je ne sais quoi. Lee retired in April 2015 but rumors of a comeback have persisted ever since. Such was the case when Punk debuted in AEW but so far, Lee's only involvement in wrestling was her work as executive producer for Women of Wrestling (WOW).

Could AJ Lee Return?

While there are no reports of Lee's return, it's difficult to take any reports seriously following months of denials that CM Punk was returning to the WWE. AJ remains popular and could easily find work in the WWE in any capacity, including a wrestler (although it's unknown whether her previous cervical injury is a bar to any in-ring return).
