We have a brand-new NXT Women’s Champion.

Last night during night one of the NXT Halloween Havoc show, Lyra Valkyria defeated Becky Lynch in a shocking upset to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.

The finish of the match came when Lynch attempted a second Man Handle Slam, only for Valkyria to counter it into a pin combination for the win.

After the match, in an emotional moment, Lynch took the title from the referee and gave it to Valkyria in a passing of the torch style scene.

Whilst Lynch’s reign has indeed been brief, it goes without saying that the reign has elevated the Women’s Title in NXT, and Lynch did her job in that capacity.

Congrats to Lynch on a fun reign, and congrats to the new NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria.
