Ex-MLW figurehead will return to TNA at its Sacrifice special on March 8.
Alex Hammerstone is on his way back to TNA Wrestling.
The Anthem-helmed promotion confirmed the major signing during last night’s (February 29) TNA iMPACT!, with news of his signing accompanying a seemingly modified moniker of simply Hammerstone. He was billed as such for his Sacrifice match announcement graphic; there, he’ll contest Josh Alexander in a Hard To Kill rematch.
Hammerstone, 33, debuted with TNA at the aforementioned January 13 pay-per-view and was heavily rumoured in the aftermath to be joining the promotion full-time. News of his Sacrifice return was confirmed earlier this week per PWInsider.
A focal point of the Court Bauer-run Major League Wrestling since February 2019, Alex Hammerstone was granted his release from the company last October. His contract expired officially on January 1, with his name subsequently being linked to both WWE and All Elite Wrestling alongside TNA. Issuing an open challenge following him becoming a free agent, it was Josh Alexander who accepted, effectively confirming his allegiance to the former IMPACT Wrestling at the onset of 2024.
Alex Hammerstone’s name brings with it a weighted history, but he’s far from the first major name brought into the TNA fold in 2024. Hard To Kill saw his debut surrounded by the likes of Nic Nemeth, Ash By Elegance, and The Grizzled Young Vets making their inaugural TNA appearances.
More recently, Mustafa Ali, who, like Nemeth and Elegance, was let go by WWE in September 2023, joined TNA on a freelance basis, capturing the X Division Championship on his first night in the company.
