Rumor Nemeth Could Be Paired with Former WWE Partner
Is AEW eager to sign Nic Nemeth? While it's believed that Nemeth (aka former WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler) is under a non-compete clause until around 21 December, that hasn't stopped talk about him working in AEW.
Now, Wrestling Purists is reporting:
Nemeth is scheduled to wrestle World Wrestling Council (WWC) Ray Gonzalez at WWC's 20 January Euphoria event. Nemeth had this to say about his upcoming bout
"Ladies and Gentlemen, it doesn't get any bigger than this. That's right, WWC Euphoria, Puerto Rico, baby ... The most wanted man in professional wrestling today, the hottest free agent, and I am laying it down, baby. I'm laying down a challenge in Puerto Rico for 'Mr. Ratings' Ray Gonzalez. You think you can set foot in the ring with me and go toe-to-toe with the best d**n thing going today? ... January 20, WWC Euphoria, 'Mr. Ratings,' the most wanted man, Nic Nemeth, is coming for you, if you got the guts."

Nic Nemeth is sure to find himself in high demand, not only for his value as a former WWE Superstar and two-time World Champion, but for his incredible wrestling ability. Despite an uneven push in the WWE, Nemeth is still considered one of wrestling's best workers.
If Nemeth signs with AEW, the promotion will have a ready-made storyline if it opts to have CJ Perry manage him. CJ Perry (aka former WWE Superstar Lana) had a storyline romance with Nemeth during their run in the WWE. This led to Lana (who was managing Rusev at the time) leaving her man for Ziggler and Rusev (who now works in AEW as Miro) working alongside Summer Rae. Unfortunately, the WWE canceled the storyline prematurely when Perry and Miro announced they were engaged on TMZ.
Perry is now working in AEW as a manager, and AEW has already started a storyline teasing tension between Perry and Miro over CJ's new managerial career. If Perry were to start managing Nic Nemeth, you can be sure that AEW would hint at their past relationship.
Even if CJ Perry doesn't manage Nemeth, Dolph Ziggler has plenty to offer AEW. Whether he wants to try to join a promotion where he'll have to fight tooth and claw to find TV time remains to be seen. Nemeth may be content appearing in other promotions such as WWC and larger indie promotions, where he can still make good money and maintain his independence.
What do you think is next for Nic Nemeth? Where would you like to see him wrestle?
