Who's next in line for a contract?
The wrestling world has been in utter chaos, with free agency in full effect. With multiple former- WWE wrestlers' non-compete clauses expiring, many have made debuts and surprise appearances. Here’s the round-up of every signing and appearance so far.
WWE keeps their homegrown talent happy, as PWInsider reports that Bailey has signed a multi-year deal with WWE. Bayley has been a regular on WWE programming and is part of one of the hottest women's stables in Damage CTRL.
This will be 4th report WWE has signed so far in December. WWE has already inked deals with Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, and Charlotte Flair.
WWE has been busy in free agency. They’ve been linked to pursuing Okada and Mercedes Mone (AKA Sasha Banks). However, things have been murky due to Okada's appearances planned for TNA and Mercedes Mone being reported to want a contract larger than Charlotte Flair’s (H/T WrestlingInc).
Drew McIntyre has also been reported to have a contract lined up but has yet to sign. His contract is expected to expire after Wrestlemania 40. Becky Lynch’s contract is also set to expire in June, but she has shown signs of wanting to stay with the company as she’s recently said on The Strutting From Gorilla YouTube Show that she wants to retire as a WWE Superstar.
TNA has also been making waves ever since Bound for Glory. They’ve already announced the signings of stars like Kusida, Dani Luna, Brian Meyers, and Leon Slater. Now it’s been reported via X that they’ve resigned both Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz, The Rascalz.
TNA has had what many can consider a successful year. The roster looks stacked with star power, such as Trinity Fatu, Josh Alexander, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey. They also have Okada returning to TNA, next year, though there has been no word on if Okada has signed with TNA. It’s assumed to be a one-time appearance so far. Scott Demore was on Busted Open Radio stating that the company has finalized one of its biggest deals in TNA history, and it’ll “shake things up” on January 13th.
In other news, stars have made their appearances on the indie scene, most of them being former WWE stars.
One major announced signing Matt Riddle joining MLW. He will go one-on-one against Jacob Fatu at the Kings of Colusseum event in Philadelphia, PA.
Another appearance was at GCW when AJ Francis, AKA Top Dollah, made a surprise attack on Joey Janela. The former Hit Row Member is looking for a fresh start and should find it on a smaller stage.
Finally, Mustafa Ali has been busy on Social Media, posting a video for a world tour campaign in 2024. Ali will be taking on some notable opponents, including Gringo Loco and Mike Bailey.
Stay tuned to Wrestlelamia, as we keep you updated on other free-agent signings that occur at this time.
