Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker have lifted the 2024 Dusty Cup.

The powerhouse duo secured their victory by toppling Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams in the opening match of NXT’s Vengeance Day, with Breakker Spearing Hayes for the three count. Carmelo jumped in front of Breakker, with the two-time NXT Champion initially having eyed up Trick Williams for the final blow.

Beginning as an eight-team field, Corbin and Breakker bested Gallus’ Mark Coffey and Wolfgang, and Axiom and Nathan Frazer to reach the finals, whereas Hayes and Williams fought past Edris Enofe and Malik Blade, and Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro of The LWO to make it to the final two.

In victory, Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker have earned themselves a future opportunity at the NXT Tag Team Championships, currently held by Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo. A date for this title clash is yet to be confirmed by WWE, with The Family currently embroiled in a bitter rivalry with OTM.

Baron Corbin’s Nine-Year Dusty Cup Odyssey

Lifting the Dusty Cup alongside Bron Breakker marked the conclusion of a nine-year odyssey for Baron Corbin.

Entering the inaugural Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in 2015, Corbin teamed with Rhyno and was the runner-up in the tournament, losing to Samoa Joe and the then-NXT Champion Finn Balor in the tournament finals. He joins The AOP, The Grizzled Young Veterans, MSK, and Dakota Kai in being two-time finalists.
