A new signature opened the show, touting the âThen, Now, Forever, Togetherâ tagline.
Coco Jones rang in WrestleMania with America The Beautiful.
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul âTriple Hâ Levesque ushered in a new era for WWE while welcoming fans to WrestleMania.
Both women received special entrances, with Becky Lynch having an arrival inspired by her New York Times best-selling book whereas Rhea Ripley was sang to the ring by Motionless In White. Lynch focused her attack on Ripleyâs arm throughout, continually attempting both cross armbreakers and Dis-Arm-Hers, though Ripley ferociously escaped each attempt. Back-and-forth finishers were dished out as both the Manhandle Slam and the Riptide were kicked out of before a top-rope variation of the former was countered into a second Riptide onto the top turnbuckle followed by a third to secure a Rhea Ripley victory. Rhea Ripleyâs reign continues at 372 days.
In what was a fast-paced, action-packed Ladder match that featured insane bumps taken from all - including an inhumane Air Raid Crash off a ladder from Tommaso Ciampa and an interfering JD McDonagh taking a tumble through two tables - WWE officially split the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. A-Town Down Underâs Grayson Waller secured the SmackDown titles for he and Austin Theory before, a few minutes later, R-Truth lifted Rawâs doubles titles for he and The Miz, marking Truthâs first WrestleMania victory. The Judgement Dayâs reign ends at 173 days.

A firefly tribute was held in honour of the late Windham âBray Wyattâ Rotunda.
WWE introduced Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs in the crowd.
With their respective unites surrounding ringside, WrestleMania 40âs lucha showcase brought out the best in all four men, with Andrade - wrestling at his first WrestleMania since 2020 - looking particularly on fire. The LWO and Legado Del Fantasma got continuously involved at ringside, resulting in Philadelphia Eagles legends Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson stopping Dominik Mysterio from making use of a steel chair. A double 619 and top-rope Splash to Santos Escobar got Mysterio and Andrade the win.
Being rapped to the ring by the self-professed âGreatest Rapper in the Worldâ Lil Wayne, Jey Uso took the fight to his older brother Jimmy, delivering a cavalcade of Superkicks that appeared to knock Jimmy out before he feigned a reunion, Superkicking Jey himself. A Spear and Samoan Splash combination from Jey gained him the victory, seemingly putting an end to the Usos Civil War.
Although the Damage CTRL trio controlled much of the match, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Naomi managed to overtake them once Jade was tagged in. An inadvertent blue mist spray from Asuka blinded Kairi Sane, with âThe Empress of Tomorrowâ herself being removed from the mix after being brutally whipped with Belairâs braid. Sane was pinned by Jade Cargill after she countered a victory roll into the Jaded.
Sami Zayn greeted his wife and son backstage, requesting they stay backstage for his match. Chad Gable also showed up, telling Zayn that he, too, would be staying backstage and that Sami owed him a favour for the training. As he walked into Gorilla, Zayn was embraced by Kevin Owens.
With his wife watching from ringside, Sami Zayn used the Philadelphian spirit to stand up to GUNTHER, withstanding an onslaught of offence - including multiple Powerbombs, Lariats, and Splashes - as he Helluva Kicked âThe Ring Generalâ atop the turnbuckles. A Brainbustahhhhhhhhh!!!!!! and follow-up Helluva Kick awarded Sami Zayn his fourth Intercontinental Championship as GUNTHER is finally toppled. GUNTHERâs reign ends at 666 days.

Raw and SmackDown General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis announced the WrestleMania 40: Night One attendance as 72,543.
Lasting well over thirty minutes, Roman Reigns, The Rock, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins delivered a melodramatic WrestleMania main event that perfectly exemplified what Bloodline Rules truly means, with TKO Board of Directors member The Rock abusing his power to maintain a grasp on the match. An inadvertent Spear from Reigns to his cousin followed by a couple of Pedigrees almost granted Rhodes and Rollins the win but ultimately, a shot to the back with a weightbelt, a Rock Bottom, and a Peopleâs Elbow gave The Rock his first victory since 2016âs WrestleMania 32. Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes on night two will now be contested under Bloodline Rules.
