The so-called ‘Scapegoat’ returned to AEW for the first time since he made CM Punk cry a river.

Jack Perry is back in All Elite Wrestling, returning during tonight’s Dynasty pay-per-view.

Perry’s re-emergence came during the evening’s semi-main event, a Ladder match for the vacant AEW World Tag Team Championships. As FTR neared victory, the one-time FTW Champion returned, knocking a bloodied Dax Harwood from the top of a ladder, which allowed The Young Bucks to pull the titles for themselves.

Jack Perry, 26, had been absent from AEW programming for almost ten months, having been suspended following a noteworthy backstage altercation with CM Punk at All In last August. Though reports have offered differing tales of what, exactly, happened, the official security camera footage was publicly aired on the April 10 Dynamite, showing Punk confronting, shoving, and choking the former Jungle Boy backstage.

Jack Perry’s name was only recently brought back up on AEW programming, being praised by The Young Bucks to build to this match vs. FTR. Until now, Perry had been working in NJPW’s America base as part of the House of Torture stable.

Jack Perry Reportedly “Never Heard Back” From Tony Khan

Owing to his use of real glass and mockery of CM Punk live on-air, which ultimately led to Punk’s unfathomable return to WWE, Jack Perry reportedly had legitimate heat with Tony Khan. As Dave Meltzer wrote in an issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Perry’s apology to Khan went without a direct reply:

“The way we’ve heard it was that he was sent home after Wembley and never heard back from Tony Khan. He apologized [and] kept texting him about [how] he never meant to cause any trouble and was sorry. He did hear from the company through lawyers. Then they talked and he apologized to Khan. But he still hasn’t been brought back. What they are doing now in Japan is [a] storyline to lead to an eventual return.”

There is currently no confirmation on when Jack Perry will next appear at an AEW event, nor what his role will be.
