Legendary Stardom act was shown in the crowd at NXT’s WrestleMania weekend staple.
Giulia has officially arrived in WWE.
The one-time World of Stardom Champion was shown on-camera ahead of the NXT Women’s Championship match between Roxanne Perez and champion Lyra Valkyria. Sitting in the crowd next to William Regal, WWE’s Vice President of Global Talent Development, and Stardom owner Rossy Ogawa, Giulia soaked in the adulation from her new home audience. She and Ogawa were reported by PWInsider as being backstage during Friday’s (April 5) SmackDown and Hall of Fame taping.
News of her arrival in WWE had been heavily speculated upon following confirmation that Giulia would be departing Japan’s World Wonder Ring Stardom, where she had been a stalwart since 2019, once her contract had expired. Fightful’s Corey Brennan reported on the morning of Stand And Deliver that she was indeed WWE-bound and would be heading to the Performance Center. An immediate debut on the main roster was ruled out.
Her WWE debut marks the market leader’s first major free agent signing of 2024 after they missed out on acquiring Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Mercedes Moné.
Signing with Stardom in October 2019, Giulia quickly became a staple of the promotion, forming the Donna Del Mondo unit only two months after her arrival. She held four of the promotion’s top championships, including a 115-day reign as World of Stardom Champion, which came off the back of an acclaimed feud with Syuri.
